The Canadian Association of Professional Access and Privacy Administrators (CAPAPA) is dedicated to the ongoing professional development, education and expanded expertise of individuals who work in the information access and protection of privacy field.

The future of privacy and access in Canada in the next few technological and legislative developments in Canada and abroad will have a significant impact upon CAPAPA members and the Canadian public - both personally and professionally.

As Canada's premier association of government recognized and publicly accessible privacy and access professionals, CAPAPA is a valuable resource for CAPAPA members from coast to coast in the private, public, and government sectors -- and for any member of the general public who has an interest in Canadian privacy compliance.

We recognize the unique challenges and accomplishments that Canadian access and privacy practitioners face in both the domestic and international context - and we continue to provide relevant and timely information, and to encourage discussion and action on relevant issues.

CAPAPA maintains the Canadian privacy professional's essential role of independent autonomy in administering Canadian privacy legislation, while directly and independently addressing the needs of industry, the public and private sectors, and all individuals in navigating, understanding and applying the legislation.

As CAPAPA continues to grow in numbers, as well as in prominence and visibility among access and privacy professionals in Canada and internationally, we will continue to be a keystone resource for those interested in and affected by emerging issues in privacy legislation.

L’Association canadienne des administrateurs professionnels de l’accès à l’information et de la protection des renseignements personnels (ACAPAP), est un centre canadien sans but lucrative pour l’expertise et l’excellence en accès à l’information et en protection de la vie privée.  
À titre de porte parole canadien pour l’accès et la vie privée, l’ACAPAP parle pour ses membres qui proviennent des secteurs publics, privés et des organismes gouvernementaux de partout au Canada.

Étant une association nationale canadienne, l’ACAPAP est composée d’un comité exécutif et de représentants régionaux.  L’ACAPAP a développé des relations de travail solides avec les différents niveaux de gouvernements, permettant la communication au niveau local des préoccupations portant sur l’accès et la vie privée.
