As Canada's voice of access and privacy, CAPAPA serves Canada's information access and privacy professionals from all sectors including industry, government, law enforcement, education and academia. CAPAPA plays a pivotal role in ensuring the independent autonomy of Canada’s access and privacy professionals to administer Canadian privacy legislation, while directly and independently addressing the needs of industry, the public and private sectors. CAPAPA provides relevant and timely information, and promotes discussion and action on privacy and access issues across Canada. Established in 2002, CAPAPA is managed by an elected, volunteer Board of Directors from across Canada, and governed by member-approved Bylaws. CAPAPA provides the only substantive standard of Professional Certification for Access and Privacy Professionals in Canada, and the only one based on nationally recognized competency standards. CAPAPA continues to be a keystone resource for those interested in and affected by emerging issues in access and privacy legislation. |
