History
The Canadian Association of Professional Access and Privacy Administrators was established in 2002 as a non-profit society.

Until late 2007, CAPAPA's volunteer Executive focused its attention on a few select project-related strategies, most notably the development of meaningful professional certification and standards.

In 2006, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada awarded a $50,000 grant for "Research and establish standards for certification of privacy and access to information professionals".

Since 2007, CAPAPA has quickly become recognized as Canada's leader in professional access and privacy in Canada.

CAPAPA now enjoys unprecedented national recognition and support as Canada's voice of access and privacy.
